Sales of medical cannabis-based medications have begun in Ukraine!

Today is a significant day for the Ukrainian healthcare system—the first medical cannabis-based medications are now available for sale in Ukraine.
For over eight years, the Ukrainian Medical Cannabis Association, led by Hennadiі Shabas, has been working consistently with patients’ organizations to develop this field. The path has not been easy, but today we finally see the result of this work—the first patient in Ukraine is receiving medical cannabis-based medication.
The first sale of the medication to a patient took place on June 11, 2026, in Vinnytsia at the FK “EcoFarm” pharmacy. The first patients were a female doctor with multiple sclerosis and two veterans suffering from chronic neuropathic and phantom pain following amputation. Patients received 5 mg hard capsules as a starting dose for treatment selection.
This day is the result of the joint efforts of the patients’ community, doctors, pharmacists, experts, government officials, and everyone who has consistently worked to create a transparent, safe, and controlled system for accessing medical cannabis. Ahead lies the accumulation of clinical experience, further education of medical professionals, the development of pharmacy infrastructure, and the establishment of Ukrainian practices for the use of medical cannabis. For now, congratulations to everyone involved!
